Eminem Set to Become a Grandfather as Daughter Hailie Jade Announces Pregnancy
Eminem is about to become a grandfather! The 51-year-old rapper shared the exciting news in the emotional music video for his song "Temporary," released on Thursday.
The video, which is dedicated to his daughter Hailie Jade, 28, features a touching moment where she surprises him with a blue football jersey that reads "Grandpa 1" and hands him an ultrasound image. A visibly moved Eminem shows the image to the camera as the video continues to showcase special moments between the father-daughter duo throughout their lives.
Hailie, who married her longtime boyfriend Evan McClintock earlier this year, later confirmed the pregnancy on Instagram. The social media influencer shared photos of herself and Evan looking at the ultrasound with the caption, “Mom & dad est. 2025.” The couple met while attending Michigan State University and got engaged in February 2023, following six years of dating.
The song “Temporary,” which features Skylar Grey, is part of Eminem’s latest album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). In the track, Eminem reflects on his relationship with his daughter, offering words of support for her future.
"I wrote you this song, To help you cope with life now that I'm gone," the rapper says in the song's introduction. "Sweetie, be strong, I know I was your rock... You will get over me and move on."
The music video includes footage from Hailie’s wedding in May, where Eminem is seen getting emotional as he sees his daughter in her wedding dress. The pair share a sweet father-daughter dance, with family and friends looking on.
Fans were quick to respond to the heartfelt video, sharing their excitement for Eminem's new chapter as a grandparent. Hailie has long been a key figure in the rapper’s life and music, with many of his earlier tracks featuring references to her.
This isn't the first time Eminem has opened up about fatherhood.
During a 2020 interview, he expressed pride in Hailie’s accomplishments, noting, “She’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure.”
