Taylor Swift Announces October Release Date and Track List For New Album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
Taylor Swift has announced that her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, is set for release on October 3rd 2025. The reveal came via social media and an appearance on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, where Swift described the record as “infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic,” and inspired by the high-energy experience of her Eras Tour. The 12-track album features long-time collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, with a title track that includes vocals from pop star Sabrina Carpenter.
Swift emphasized this is a tightly curated project: “This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time… you couldn’t take one out and it be the same album, you couldn’t add one.” Unlike her last project, The Tortured Poets Department, which dropped with 31 tracks and a surprise double album, this one is focused and will not contain any more songs than the list already announced. “There’s not a thirteenth, there’s not other ones coming,” she said. “It’s just right.”
The album art, shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, shows Swift in a dazzling showgirl look, submerged in water and surrounded by glittering orange letters. Spotify has launched a teaser playlist titled And, baby, that’s show business for you, hinting at themes from the new era. Swift’s last album became the top-seller of 2024, and now fans are counting down to what she calls a “perfect puzzle” of just 12 songs.
