Trump to Host UFC Fight at the White House for America’s 250th Anniversary

President Trump has announced plans to host a UFC championship fight on the White House grounds as part of next year’s 250th anniversary celebrations of American independence. Speaking at an event in Iowa, Trump said, “We’re going to have a UFC fight – think of this – on the grounds of the White House.” The audience is expected to be between 20,000 to 25,000 people. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the plan, calling it “EPIC.”

A UFC spokesperson said discussions with the White House are underway, though the exact location on the grounds and venue setup remain undecided, and UFC CEO Dana White, a longtime friend and supporter of Trump, is expected to reveal more details soon. Trump and White’s partnership goes back to 2001, when Trump hosted a struggling UFC event at the Trump Taj Mahal.

The fight is just one part of the president’s larger America 250 celebration, which will also include professional and amateur sporting events across national parks and historic sites. Trump also teased a nationally televised high school competition called the “Patriot Games,” led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
