‘Relive the Best, Experience the Last’: Johnny Knoxville and Gang Return for Explosive Final Outing
LOS ANGELES — The men who made a global career out of hilariously inflicting pain upon themselves are gearing up for one final, bone-crunching curtain call. Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for Jackass: Best and Last, a feature-length swan song that promises to be the definitive conclusion to the 25-year-old stunt comedy franchise.
The trailer, which debuted at CinemaCon earlier this month and was unleashed globally on Monday, confirms that the fifth theatrical instalment will arrive in cinemas on 26th June 2026. Combining high-budget new stunts with a retrospective celebration of the crew’s "greatest hits," the film is being billed by creators Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, and Spike Jonze as a love letter to the fans who have followed their idiocy since the early MTV days.
The Return of the ‘Old Guard’
Despite the physical toll of decades of carnage, the trailer features the core "Jackass" veterans looking as reckless as ever. Johnny Knoxville, now 55 and sporting his signature silver hair, leads the charge alongside Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Preston Lacy, and Jason ‘Wee Man’ Acuña.
Early footage from the trailer highlights a mix of nostalgia and new-age absurdity:
-
The Human Catapult: Steve-O is seen being launched into the horizon while strapped inside a fully occupied porta-potty.
-
Robot Riot: The crew engages in a "pain-threshold" test involving a high-tech industrial robot.
-
Danger Ehren’s Return: Ehren McGhehey appears to face his most terrifying animal-based stunt yet, involving what looks to be a swarm of Africanised honeybees.
“Relive the best, experience the last,” the trailer’s voiceover intones. “It’s a joyously raucous celebration of all the mischievous camaraderie you’ve come to love from these idiots.”
A Generational Bridge
While the original cast remains the heartbeat of the film, the "new blood" introduced in 2022’s Jackass Forever is back to shoulder some of the more punishing physical loads. Rachel Wolfson, Sean ‘Poopies’ McInerney, Zach Holmes, Jasper, and Compston ‘Dark Shark’ Wilson are all confirmed to return.
The inclusion of Poopies is particularly notable for fans, following a year of tabloid speculation regarding his health and a public fallout with Knoxville over a controversial "Shark Week" stunt. His presence in the trailer suggests a reconciliation within the group as they head toward the finish line.
The Jackass Cinematic History – Box Office Performance

| Jackass 3D | 2010 | $171.7 Million | The Jet Engine |

The End of an Era
For many, the release of Best and Last feels like the closing of a significant cultural chapter. Since its MTV debut in 2000, Jackass has defied critics to become a half-billion-dollar cinematic empire, influencing everything from YouTube prank culture to modern reality TV.
However, the "last" in the title appears to be a genuine promise. Speaking in a recent interview, Knoxville admitted that the frequency of concussions and broken bones has made it impossible to continue at this scale.
“We wanted to go out while we could still walk to the premiere,” Knoxville joked. “This movie is us saying thank you for letting us be this stupid for this long.”
The Verdict
Early social media reaction to the trailer has been overwhelmingly emotional, with the hashtag #JackassBestAndLast trending within minutes of the drop. While the "best of" compilation elements of the film have led some to speculate it may be a "clip show" hybrid, the trailer’s focus on massive, set-piece stunts suggests Paramount has spared no expense for the finale.
As the trailer concludes with a montage of the cast laughing through the years set to a slowed-down version of their iconic theme, it is clear that for the Jackass crew, the only thing that hurts more than the stunts is saying goodbye.
Jackass: Best and Last hits UK and US cinemas on 26th June 2026.
