Travis Scott Arrested in Miami on Charges of Disorderly Intoxication and Trespassing

Incident Overview

American rapper Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was arrested in Miami on suspicion of disorderly intoxication and trespassing. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday at the Miami Beach Marina. Police were called to the scene around 01:45 local time to address reports of an argument on a yacht.

Details of the Arrest

According to the arrest report from the Miami Beach Police Department, officers were summoned due to reports of people fighting on a yacht. Upon arrival, they observed Scott shouting at individuals on the vessel. The report noted a strong smell of alcohol on Scott's breath, and officers instructed him to leave the dock, which he initially did. However, he walked backward while yelling obscenities at the occupants of the yacht.

Scott returned to the dock five minutes later, attempting to reboard the yacht. When officers confronted him, he disregarded their commands and behaved erratically, shouting and disturbing local residents. Following his arrest, Scott admitted to drinking alcohol, stating, "It's Miami."

Background and Impact

Travis Scott is a prominent figure in the hip-hop world, boasting 10 Grammy Award nominations. He was previously in a relationship with Kylie Jenner, and they have two children together.

Scott's arrest comes ahead of his European tour, which is set to begin in the Netherlands on June 28. The tour includes a show in London and at the Co-Op Live venue in Manchester on July 13.

Previous Controversies

In 2021, a tragic crowd surge at Scott's Astroworld festival in Houston, Texas, resulted in the deaths of 10 fans. While Scott did not face criminal charges for the incident, he remains involved in civil lawsuits alleging that the event's organizers were at fault. Last year, Scott achieved his first UK number one album with "Utopia," released shortly after a planned performance in front of Egypt's pyramids was canceled.
