Rapper LUDACRIS Is BACK!!

‘It’s the 2000s All Over Again’: Ludacris Reunites with Dave Meyers for Eye-Popping New ‘Pull Over’ Music Video

ATLANTA — The King of the Dirty South has officially snapped back into campaign mode. Dropping jaws and hitting a massive nostalgia nerve, Ludacris has unleashed the highly anticipated official music video for his latest comeback single, Pull Over, confirming that his first studio album in over a decade is officially on the horizon (music video below).

The eye-popping visual, released globally on Thursday 21st May, marks the ultimate return to form for the 48-year-old hip-hop titan. Known for creating some of the most surreal and iconic music videos of the MTV era, Ludacris, real name Christopher Bridges—has reunited with legendary director Dave Meyers, the creative helmsman behind his career-defining visuals for "Stand Up" and "How Low".

A High-Octane Class Reunion

The release of Pull Over represents a full-scale creative reunion for the multi-Grammy winner. Boasting a heavy, thumping bassline, the track features production from elite Atlanta hitmaker DJ Toomp (famed for his work with T.I. and Kanye West).

Lyrically, the song leans aggressively into the rapper's signature fast-flowing, comical, and flirtatious bars that dominated the early 2000s airwaves.

“I ain't never ever, ever seen a body like hers / Type of body that'll make a brother go skrrt / I said, pull over, man, pull over,” Ludacris raps on the booming hook, setting the stage for Meyers’ trademark cinematic chaos.

True to their history, the video is a vibrant, hilariously over-the-top affair. It features giant practical effects, eccentric choreography, and a cameo from an oversized mascot of Ludacris’s own head—a direct, self-referential nod to his classic 2001 "Rollout (My Business)" video.

The Road to Luda’s Tenth

The release of the video caps off a meticulously orchestrated rollout strategy. Ludacris first sent shockwaves through the industry in March at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards. After taking the stage to accept the prestigious Landmark Award celebrating his 25 years in the rap game, he shocked the Dolby Theatre by kicking off an iconic career medley with a surprise, live marching band debut of Pull Over.

The single serves as the second major indicator of his forthcoming 10th studio album, his first full-length LP since 2015’s Ludaversal.

While Def Jam Recordings has yet to stake out an official release date for the untitled project, the rollout has been steadily building momentum behind the scenes for months. Ludacris set the wheels in motion late last year with the raw lyrical showcase "44 Bars", alongside a series of viral social media freestyles and recording studio teasers with Mike WiLL Made-It and Jermaine Dupri.

Falling in Love with Hip-Hop Again

Speaking to radio programmers following the audio drop, the Fast & Furious star admitted that stepping away from the microphone to focus on his massive acting portfolio and philanthropic ventures ultimately refreshed his musical palate.

“I'm falling in love with music all over again,” Ludacris shared in a statement to fans. “The energy is completely different this time. We aren’t easing into it quietly; this next chapter is rooted in experience, creativity, and pure legacy.”

The Verdict

By choosing to pair his new music with the exact director and producer who helped define his golden era, Ludacris is bypassing modern, minimalist streaming trends in favour of big-budget, blockbuster showmanship. If Pull Over is anything to go by, 2026 is shaping up to be a spectacular renaissance for one of hip-hop’s greatest entertainers.
