Severe wildfire hits Greece

Jet2 cancels flights and sends empty aircrafts to bring home stranded British people from Greece

Holidays and flights to Rhodes, Greece are now cancelled due to the wildfire with mass evacuations in process.

Tourists arriving in Greece have no available hotels to stay in due to tourists being stranded on the island due to cancelled flights. Thousands of people are cramped on the beach looking to take shelter from the uncontrollable blazes. Fires were reported to start on Tuesday, 18 July 2023, and firefighters are still battling to get the situation under control.
Jet2 have cancelled all flights until next week Tuesday, to send empty planes to evacuate stranded British tourists.

Ryanair and EasyJet are continuing with flights going to Rhodes but hotels are unable to fulfil their bookings due to housing evacuated people from the fire-affected areas and stranded tourists. This move has seen both airlines face criticism.
Due to this major disruption, everyone is urged to check with their travel agents or flight provider to see how their travels may be affected.
