OpenAI Restructures AI Safety Leadership
OpenAI has made a big change in its AI safety team. Aleksander Madry is the who used to lead the Preparedness team. He is now moving to a new research project. His new role will be around important research in AI.
The Preparedness team which checks how ready AI models are for advanced uses will now be led by Joaquin Quinonero Candela and Lilian Weng. This team plays a key role in making sure AI models are safe before they are released to the public.
