Glastonbury 2025 Tickets Sell Out in Record 35 Minutes

Glastonbury 2025 Tickets Sell Out in Record 35 Minutes

Tickets for the 2025 Glastonbury Festival sold out in just 35 minutes, leaving thousands of hopeful festival-goers disappointed. The much-anticipated tickets went live at 9 am on Sunday, with all passes snapped up by 9:35 am. This year’s sale was even quicker than last year's, which took nearly an hour. Fans eager to attend next June's event faced stiff competition, as demand far outstripped supply.

Coach tickets, which went on sale earlier in the week, were also gone in less than 30 minutes. The festival encourages these combined coach packages to promote greener travel options. For those who missed out, there's still a glimmer of hope with the upcoming ticket resale, though the exact date for this remains unannounced.

Glastonbury organisers took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to express gratitude to those who managed to secure tickets and to apologise to those who missed out. They also announced a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets in spring 2025, saying:

“Tickets for Glastonbury 2025 have now Sold Out. Thanks to everyone who bought one and sorry to those who missed out, on a morning when demand was much higher than supply. There will be a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets in spring 2025.”

New ticket sale system faces mixed responses from buyers

In response to previous criticisms, this year’s ticket sale featured a revamped booking system. Instead of requiring users to frantically refresh their browsers, fans were "randomly assigned a place in a queue." The change received mixed reactions: while some praised the system for being a fairer process, others experienced glitches and reported being booted from the page just as they were about to complete their purchases. One frustrated user shared: "I was on the booking page, clicked proceed, and then it crashed... Not fair."

Tickets for the festival, which will take place from June 25th to 29th at Worthy Farm in Somerset, were priced at £373.50 plus a £5 booking fee, marking an increase of £18.50 compared to 2024. Tickets must be fully paid for by the 7th April 2025, and any that are not paid for then will be put up for resale in the Spring, giving fans who didn’t manage to snag one this time another chance to get their hands on one.

Music fans speculate over next years lineup

Although the 2025 lineup is still under wraps, last year’s headliners included Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and SZA, with Coldplay making history by becoming the first act to headline Glastonbury five times. Speculation is rife about who will take the iconic Pyramid Stage next summer. However, fans hoping for an appearance from Oasis can set aside their hopes, as the band has officially denied plans to appear at any festivals next year, saying that the only way to see the band will be on their Oasis Live '25 World Tour.

The 2025 festival will be followed by a break in 2026, which Glastonbury traditionally uses as a "fallow year" to allow the farmland to recover. This break is part of the festival’s long-standing practice of taking a hiatus every five years to ensure the sustainability of the site. The festival is expected to return in 2027.
