Ex-w7m Rainbow Six Siege Roster Signs With FURIA
Brazilian esports organisation FURIA Esports is set to return to competitive Rainbow Six Siege (R6) after signing champions of the recent Six Invitational 2024, the ex-w7m Esports lineup. The move marks a significant comeback for FURIA, who return to Rainbow Six after a year's absence from the game.
Ex-w7m team join FURIA
The new signing follows the decision by the team to not renew their contract with w7m esports, allowing them to start negotiations with FURIA before the recent Six Invitational. The ex-w7m lineup was reported as one of the best teams in the R6 scene last year after winning the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen, the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta, and the Six Invitational 2024.
In a statement, Gustavo 'Herdsz' Herdina expressed their excitement, stating, "From the beginning, the way FURIA treated us made us feel like part of a family, with a lot of respect and helpfulness. So it was a mutual interest, as it is a gigantic organisation that it is a dream to represent." This sentiment resonated with FURIA's Co-CEO, Jaime Pádua, who noted the community's persistent calls for their return to competitive R6.
FURIA aim for international titles
FURIA was founded in 2017, and joined the world of competitive Rainbow Six Seige in 2020. The previous R6 rosters consistently managed to qualify for international tournaments, however, the FURIA R6 team is yet to reach an international semi-final or final. Esports fans will now be eagerly waiting to see if the newest roster will see a change in the tides for FURIA, with their debut match in the Brazil League scheduled for this Saturday against Made in Brazil (MIBR).
