Diddy Sentencing Set for October

Diddy Sentencing Set for October

Sean “Diddy” Combs will face sentencing on October 3rd after being found guilty of two counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution. While he was cleared of more serious allegations like sex trafficking and racketeering, the hip-hop mogul still faces up to 20 years in prison. Legal experts, however, suggest the sentence will likely be far less due to it being his first conviction.

During the eight-week trial, prosecutors accused Combs of coercing women, including ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, into sex acts involving male escorts. Although the jury found there wasn’t enough evidence to prove sex trafficking or a criminal enterprise, they did convict him on lesser charges. Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024 and will receive credit for time already served.

His legal team had initially pushed for an earlier sentencing date, referencing personal family reasons, but ultimately agreed to the judge’s October timeline. Prosecutors are expected to push for up to five years behind bars, while Combs’ defense hopes for just over two. The final sentence will be determined after both sides submit their recommendations in September.
