Australia Unveil Uniforms For Paris 2024 Olympics

Australia Unveil Uniforms For Paris 2024 Olympics

With 51 days left until the start of the Paris 2024 Olympics, let's take a look at Team Australia's uniforms for opening and closing ceremonies.

The uniforms, revealed at Clovelly Bay in Sydney, showcase a mix of Parisian style and Australian heritage, with the men wearing a teal blazer and cotton t-shirt decorated with gold and green ribbing and beige chino shorts. The blazers for women will be paired with the shorts, or a pleated skirt with a green, gold and white gradient.

The blazers have been decorated with the names of all 301 Australian Olympic champions on the lining, and the Australian Olympians’ Oath embroidered on the inside of the chest pocket.

Indigenous artwork by Olympic boxer Paul Fleming and Torres Strait artist David Bosun also adds a unique touch to the uniform, with Fleming’s design Walking Together  integrated into the scarves and Bosun’s Ngalmun Danalaig on the pocket squares. This marks the largest integration of Indigenous artwork on Olympic uniforms in the history of the games.

Elisha Hopkinson, CEO of APG & Co, the company that owns the official uniform designer Sportscraft, emphasised the importance of making the green and gold colours feel contemporary. "We’re on the fashion stage and we wanted to make our athletes proud," she said.

With just under two months to go until the Olympics, the Australian team is set to make a stylish and meaningful statement in Paris, reflecting both national pride and global unity through sport and culture.
