Supermarkets will make their prices clearer
Supermarkets were told to make their pricing clearer. It is supposed to help their shoppers to compare the prices and choose the best products.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) stated that unclear pricing might have an impact on people's choices and the ways how they compare products.
The plethora of supermarkets already stated that they will reminisce on CMA's recommendations.
Sarah Cardell, chief executive of the CMA, stated: "We've found that not all retailers are displaying prices as clearly as they should, which could be hampering people's ability to compare product prices. We're writing to these retailers and warning them to make the necessary changes or risk facing enforcement action."
According to BBC, "while food price inflation remains at historically high levels - 17.3% in June - the watchdog said the evidence it had collected indicated that competition issues had not been driving this." This might be a compelling issue for further debate, as people find those changes more and more confusing.
