McDonald's investigates the abuse claims

After the BBC investigation, McDonald's is aiming to investigate the tremendous abuse claims.

Alistair Macrow, chief executive of McDonald's UK and Ireland, stated the claims he had heard this week from BBC's page are "personally and professionally shocking". Furthermore, Macrow apologised to anyone affected.

"The unit will be run by human resource and legal professionals full-time until at least the end of this year," Macrow added.

"It is crucial that people feel safe and able to speak up," Macrow said. "Clearly this has not been the case in some parts of our business." Mr Macrow also added: "Any substantiated breaches of our code of conduct will be met with the most severe measures up to, and including, dismissal."

Since the BBC's report was published on Tuesday, more stories have surfaced. They are putting further pressure on McDonald's.

People want McDonald's to take responsibility for those allegations, do the proper investigation and pay the recommendation for affected employees.
