‘Monica’ in March: Jack Harlow Announces New Album and a Creative Reset in NYC
NEW YORK — The "First Class" rapper is officially checking back in. After months of relative quiet, Jack Harlow sent fans into a frenzy Tuesday night by announcing his fourth studio album, titled Monica.
In a social media reveal that featured the project’s cover art, the 27-year-old Louisville native confirmed the album is set to arrive on 13th March 2026, a date that pulls double duty as the artist’s 28th birthday.
The Electric Lady Influence
While his previous effort, 2023’s Jackman, was a gritty, introspective nod to his Kentucky roots, Monica appears to be a product of the Big Apple. According to a press release from Atlantic Records, the album was written and recorded over the past year following Harlow’s move to New York City.
Much of the project was crafted at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village. The choice of venue—originally founded by Jimi Hendrix and frequented by icons like David Bowie and Taylor Swift, suggests a pivot toward a more polished, high-fidelity sound for the multi-platinum star.
A Milestone Year
The announcement of Monica follows a highly successful 2025 for Harlow, during which he remained a fixture on the charts despite not releasing a full-length project.
-
Billion-Stream Club: His 2024 single “Lovin On Me” officially surpassed one billion streams on Spotify earlier this year, joining his previous mega-hits “Industry Baby” and “First Class.”
-
Collaborative Streak: Harlow kept his momentum high with several key guest verses, most notably his 2025 collaboration with Doja Cat on the track “Just Us.”
The Fan Reaction
On platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter), the title Monica has already sparked intense speculation. While some fans are theorizing about a potential "muse" behind the name, others have pointed to the title as a possible sign of a more soulful, R&B-influenced direction for the rapper.
“Jackman was the appetiser, Monica feels like the main course,” wrote one fan in a trending thread on r/hiphopheads. “If he’s recording at Electric Lady, he’s definitely chasing that classic New York sound.”
How to Pre-Order
Physical editions of the album are already available for pre-order on Harlow’s official website. The rollout includes:
-
Exclusive Vinyl: A limited-edition cream-colored vinyl.
-
Signed Copies: A select number of signed vinyl and CDs available for early birds.
-
Digital Pre-save: Fans can now pre-save the album on Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal.
With the release date just over a month away, the "Jackman" era has officially come to a close, making way for what Harlow is calling his "most ambitious chapter yet."
