‘Steroids and Chaos’: Guy Ritchie Confirms Autumn 2026 Return for MobLand Season 2
LONDON — The warring crime families of London are officially preparing for a second round. During a special Paramount+ press briefing on Wednesday 13th May, executive producer and director Guy Ritchie provided the first concrete timeline for the return of his record-breaking gangster epic, MobLand.
Following weeks of speculation after filming wrapped in late April, Ritchie confirmed that Season 2 is slated for an Autumn 2026 premiere. The news comes after a whirlwind production period that saw the cast and crew filming across London, Northern Ireland, and Mallorca to expand the show’s "global syndicate" aesthetic.
‘Season 1 on Steroids’
The debut season of MobLand was a juggernaut for Paramount+, shattering streaming records with over 26 million views and becoming the platform's second-most-watched original series. Ritchie, known for his trademark "crunchy" style in Snatch and The Gentlemen, promised that the sophomore outing would push the boundaries of the genre even further.
“If people thought the first season was proper chaos, they haven’t seen anything yet,” Ritchie told reporters. “We’ve taken the DNA of the Harrigan and Stevenson feud and injected it with a much higher dose of adrenaline. It’s bigger, faster, and—frankly—it's a bit insane.”
Returning star Emmett J. Scanlan, who plays the lethal enforcer Paul O’Donnell, echoed the director’s sentiments in a recent social media post, describing the new episodes as "ambitious" and "fast-moving" despite the heavy production values.
A Power Vacuum and New Players
Season 2 will pick up in the immediate, bloody aftermath of the Season 1 finale, which saw the Harrigan matriarch Maeve (Helen Mirren) and patriarch Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) behind bars, while "fixer" Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) barely survived a stabbing by his own wife.
While the core cast returns, the "Autumn 2026" episodes will introduce two major new threats to the London underworld:
-
Johnny Flynn: Joining as a series regular in a role described as a "ruthless young pretender" to the Harrigan throne.
-
Ophelia Lovibond: Cast as a high-level operative within the mysterious global syndicate that even the Harrigans fear.

The ‘Hustle’ of Production
The series has gained a reputation for its incredibly tight turnaround times. Much like the first season, which reportedly finished filming just days before its March 2025 premiere, the crew has been "hustling" through post-production.
However, with the move to a more expansive, multi-country narrative, Paramount+ appears to be allowing for a slightly longer editing window this time around to ensure the "prestige" quality matches the show's skyrocketing popularity.
The Verdict
With MobLand now established as the "crown jewel" of Paramount’s UK scripted slate, the stakes for Season 2 couldn't be higher. By moving the premiere to the prime autumn slot, the streamer is positioning the show to dominate the year-end conversation.
As Ritchie noted before concluding the briefing: “In MobLand, the battle is never over, it’s just getting more expensive.”
MobLand Season 1 is currently available to stream on Paramount+.
