‘Money’ No More? Floyd Mayweather Sued Over Alleged £84,000 Unpaid Private Jet Bill
LAS VEGAS — The man who famously nicknamed himself ‘Money’ is reportedly facing fresh legal turbulence. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been hit with a lawsuit from a global aviation fuel provider, alleging the undefeated boxing icon failed to pay more than $105,000 (£84,000) for fuel and services tied to his private jet fleet.
The legal action, filed by Associated Energy Group (AEG), claims that TBE Aviation LLC, a company managed by Mayweather, stiffed the provider on multiple invoices for a Gulfstream IV jet between late 2024 and mid-2025.
The ‘Air Mayweather’ Arrears
According to court documents obtained by reporters, the unpaid bills stem from a series of international flights across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, and Israel. The filings detail specific fuel charges, including an £18,000 ($22,000) bill for services at Shannon Airport in Ireland and a £24,000 ($30,000) invoice from Newark Liberty International in New Jersey.
“The defendant has failed and refused to pay AEG for the fuel, despite repeated demands,” the lawsuit alleges, adding that the price for the goods was “agreed between the parties” at a reasonable value.
AEG has reportedly filed a lien against the aircraft—one of two luxury jets owned by the boxer—to secure the principal amount of $109,048, plus interest and legal fees.
A Mountain of Mounting Debts
The jet fuel dispute is merely the latest in a series of financial headaches for the 50-0 fighter. Despite earning a career total estimated at over £1.2 billion ($1.5 billion), Mayweather’s liquid assets have come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks.
Mayweather’s 2026 Financial Legal Battles
| Creditor / Entity | Alleged Debt | Nature of Dispute |
| Internal Revenue Service (IRS) | £5.8 Million ($7.3M) | Unpaid federal taxes (2018 & 2023). |
| Former Landlords | £270,000 ($337K) | Unpaid rent on a Manhattan luxury duplex. |
| Associated Energy Group | £84,000 ($105K) | Unpaid jet fuel and aviation services. |
| Logan Paul | £1.2 Million ($1.5M) | Unpaid earnings from 2021 exhibition match. |
Cash Piles vs. Court Files
The lawsuit stands in stark contrast to Mayweather’s public persona. Just last month, the boxer shared a viral video on Instagram showing off millions in physical cash stacked on a private jet seat, seemingly dismissing rumours of a "liquidity crisis."
However, financial analysts suggest the "Money" brand is feeling the pinch of high-overhead investments. While Mayweather recently finalized a £320 million ($402M) deal for a New York apartment portfolio, the IRS has already filed a lien against his Las Vegas property to secure unpaid taxes.
The Legal Rebuttal
Representatives for Mayweather have remained tight-lipped regarding the aviation lawsuit. In the past, the boxer has brushed off similar claims as "clout-chasing" by companies looking to attach themselves to his fame.
His longtime tax attorney and manager of Michigan Appearances LLC, Jeffrey Morse, is also named in the filings. For now, the "Prince of Boxing" remains in the ring—not for a title fight, but for a high-stakes legal battle to protect his namesake.
