Celebrating St. George's Day: Kidderminster's Festive Parade

Over the weekend, Kidderminster witnessed a heartwarming display of community spirit as hundreds of youngsters took part in a celebratory march in honor of St. George's Day.
Annual Parade
On Sunday, April 21, crowds gathered along the streets to witness the annual St. George's Day parade. Participants from various groups including Scouts, Guides, Squirrels, Beavers, Rainbows, Brownies, Cubs, Explorers, and Ranger groups came together to mark this special occasion.
Parade Route
The parade kicked off from New Road around 10:30 AM, proceeding through Comberton Hill and Hoo Road, culminating at Aggborough Stadium for a service.
Acknowledgment
Following the service, the group retraced its steps via Worcester Street and Vicar Street, where the mayor and other civic dignitaries expressed their appreciation and took the salute.
Community Appreciation
Girlguiding Kidderminster expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the parade, highlighting the additional roles taken on by flag bearers and those involved in the service. The marshals were also commended for ensuring the safety of all participants.

In a post-event reflection, Kyle Daisley, Chair of Worcestershire County Council, praised the event, emphasizing the enjoyable service held at Kidderminster Harriers Football Ground and congratulating all those involved.
Traffic Advisory
Prior to the event, motorists were advised of possible delays and diversions due to road closures between 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM. Key areas affected included New Road, Oxford Street, Ring Road, Comberton Hill, Hoo Road, and the town center.
