South Park Episode Mocking Charlie Kirk Pulled From Comedy Central After Shooting

A South Park episode parodying conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been pulled from Comedy Central’s rotation following Kirk’s fatal shooting at a live event at Utah Valley University on September 10th. The episode, titled “Got a Nut”, originally aired on August 6th 2025 and featured character Eric Cartman mimicking Kirk’s campus debates, hairstyle and mannerisms, with character Clyde Donovan receiving the fictional “Charlie Kirk Award for Young Masterdebaters.” While the episode is no longer airing on cable, it remains available on Paramount+.
Kirk had publicly laughed off the episode, calling it a “badge of honor” and saying, “We as conservatives should be able to take a joke.” However, some of his supporters have since blamed the show for inciting hatred and potentially helping to lead to the shooting, with one user on X posting, “Let’s blame South Park… These people hate you and want to see you dead.” Others have accused creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone of contributing to the environment that led to Kirk’s death.
At this time (13:30 GMT 12/9/25) the FBI currently has a suspect in custody. President Trump addressed the nation after the killing, blaming “radical left rhetoric” and vowing to hold “each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity” accountable. Despite the backlash, Paramount has not officially commented on the episode’s removal from Comedy Central.
