Oasis Announce Reunion Tour
After 15 years of separation, British rock band Oasis is set to reunite for a series of live shows in 2025. The iconic group, known for defining the Britpop era of the 1990s, made the announcement on Tuesday, confirming that brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher will be back on stage together.
In a statement released on social media, the band declared, "The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised."
This news follows days of speculation and a surge in Oasis streaming as fans eagerly awaited confirmation of the reunion.
The Oasis Live '25 tour will begin in Cardiff at the Principality Stadium on July 4, 2025. The band has announced a total of 14 gigs across the UK and Ireland, including multiple shows in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. These performances will be the only European dates next year, with more international dates expected to be revealed soon.
The tour also marks the 30th anniversary of the band’s breakthrough album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, which features some of their biggest hits like "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger." Fans across generations are expected to flock to these shows, with tickets going on sale this Saturday.
Despite the excitement, some fans and critics are questioning the reunion's motivation. The Gallagher brothers have famously had a tumultuous relationship, leading to the band's breakup in 2009 after a backstage fight in Paris. Their years of public feuding have made the reunion all the more surprising.
Helen Brown, a music critic at The Independent, remarked, "It's extraordinary that [the Gallagher brothers] seem to be getting along better – and maybe money is an incentive here."
The announcement has sparked a wave of enthusiasm, with many celebrities and fans expressing their excitement online. Edith Bowman, a radio DJ, noted that the band "appealed immediately" to fans when they first emerged and that their music remains "incredibly timeless."
This reunion is not just a trip down memory lane for longtime fans but also an introduction for a new generation. As Bowman pointed out, Oasis is a band that has been "passed down to the generations," with younger fans eager to experience their music live.
Oasis fans, who have been hoping for this moment since the band’s split, are now bracing for what might be one of the most sought-after tickets of the decade.
