Mike Tyson is "ready" for Jake Paul fight on November 15

Mike Tyson is

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to face off in the ring on November 15th, following the rescheduling of their highly anticipated bout. Originally planned for July 20th, the fight had to be postponed due to Tyson experiencing an ulcer flare-up. Now, with the new date just around the corner, both fighters have expressed their readiness and determination during a joint press conference in New York City.

Tyson unfazed by time out of the ring ahead of Jake Paul fight

Tyson, 58, a former heavyweight champion with a formidable record of 50-6, has not fought professionally since 2005. However, he appears unfazed by the years out of the ring.

"I had a small adversity. I got sick, but I feel good. I'm just ready," Tyson said.

"As soon as I catch this guy it's going to be totally over, he is going to run. He is gonna run like a thief," Tyson remarked, dismissing any notion that Paul's youth and recent experience would pose a significant challenge.

The boxing legend made it clear that his return to the ring was driven by a simple reason: "Because I can. Who else can do it but me? We have a YouTuber fighting the greatest fighter ever to live."

"I am here to make 40 million dollars and knock out a legend."

Jake Paul, 27, has built a 10-1 record since transitioning from YouTube to boxing.

Despite being 31 years younger than Tyson, Paul is confident in his abilities and his goal for the fight is straightforward: "I am here to make 40 million dollars and knock out a legend."

While Paul acknowledged his respect for Tyson, he emphasised that the friendship is on hold until the fight is over.

"I love Mike and I respect him but we are not friends anymore until Nov. 15," Paul stated.

Paul, who faced boos and heckles from the crowd at the press conference, remained unfazed. His focus is clearly on the financial reward and the glory of defeating a boxing legend.

Tyson v Paul to use 14oz gloves

The fight will be held at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will be streamed live globally on Netflix. The bout is set to consist of eight rounds, each lasting two minutes, with both fighters wearing 14-ounce gloves—a deviation from the standard 10-ounce gloves typically used in professional boxing.

While the fight has generated significant buzz due to the stark contrast between the two fighters — one a seasoned veteran and the other a newcomer from the world of social media — the anticipation continues to build.

As November 15th approaches, fans are eager to see how this unique match-up will unfold.

Will Tyson's experience and power prove too much for the younger Paul, or will the YouTuber-turned-boxer pull off an upset?

One thing is certain: the boxing world will be watching.
