Four Charged Over Break-In At RAF Brize Norton
Four people have been charged following a break-in at RAF Brize Norton, where £7 million worth of damage was caused to two Voyager aircraft on 20th June. Counter Terrorism Policing South East confirmed that the individuals face charges of conspiracy to enter a prohibited place knowingly for a purpose prejudicial to the safety or interests of the United Kingdom, and conspiracy to commit criminal damage.
The people being charged are:
- Amy Gardiner-Gibson, aged 29, of no fixed abode
- Daniel Jeronymides-Norie, aged 35, of Friern Barnet Lane, London
- Jony Cink, aged 24, of no fixed abode
- Lewie Chiaramello, aged 22, of Olive Road, London,
They are all believed to be connected to Palestine Action, a group that claimed responsibility for the incident, calling it a protest against the UK’s military support for Israel. Police said the Crown Prosecution Service would argue the charges have a “terrorist connection,” though no terrorism offences have formally been filed.
The break-in, carried out using electric scooters, led to a wider security review across UK military sites. A 41-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was bailed until September, while a 23-year-old man was released without charge. The four accused remain in custody and are expected in court at Westminster Magistrates’ on Thursday.
