Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Issues
Dolly Parton has announced that she is postponing her upcoming Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The 79-year-old country legend shared the news on social media, explaining that she needs to undergo a series of medical procedures that will prevent her from rehearsing in time for the December shows.
In her heartfelt message to fans, Dolly said, "As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures." She continued, adding a touch of humor, “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” While she didn't specify the exact nature of her health issues earlier this month, Dolly cancelled an appearance at Dollywood due to a kidney stone, which led to an infection.
Fans who had eagerly awaited Dolly’s return to the Las Vegas stage will now have to wait until September 2026 for the six rescheduled shows. Original tickets will still be valid for the new dates, and refunds are available for those unable to attend. Dolly assured fans that her decision to postpone was made with them in mind: “I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
Despite the delay, Dolly reassured everyone that she is far from retiring. “Don’t worry about me quitting the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she said with her signature optimism. The singer also shared that she will continue working on projects from her Nashville base during this time.
Fans and the public have been incredibly supportive, understanding the challenges Dolly has faced this year, including the loss of her husband Carl Dean, who passed away in March after nearly 60 years of marriage. She recently dedicated the song “If You Hadn’t Been There” in his memory.
Dolly ended her message with a note of gratitude: "He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding."
