Brad Pitt's F1 Movie To Be Released In 2025

Brad Pitt's F1 Movie To Be Released In 2025

Brad Pitt's highly anticipated Formula 1 movie will hit theatres on June 25, 2025, with a North American release two days later, as confirmed by Formula 1 and Apple Original Films.

The yet-to-be-named film, directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, is co-produced by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. The movie promises to capture the thrill and intensity of F1 racing, featuring real-time footage from actual Grands Prix around the world.

Pitt, 60, stars as Sonny Hayes, a veteran driver making a dramatic return to the F1 grid, alongside Damson Idris, who plays his rookie teammate, Joshua Pierce. Filming has taken place at various 2023 races, including the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where Pitt raced an adapted Formula Two car and filmed scenes on the grid.

The movie's plot follows Pitt's character as he returns to F1 racing, bringing an exciting dynamic to the story. The joint statement from Apple and Formula 1 described the film as a "landmark for the sport and cinema," celebrating the drivers' heroism and the sport's incredible challenges.

Lewis Hamilton heavily involved in film

Hamilton has been heavily involved in the project, aiming to ensure the film's authenticity. "We want everyone to love it and to really feel that we encapsulate what the essence of this sport is all about," Hamilton said. The movie will showcase the excitement and skill of F1 drivers, capturing the real speed and action of the races.

Hamilton believes the film will take F1's popularity to new heights, building on the success of the Netflix series "Drive to Survive." "We've already seen the great work and impact of the Netflix show, and I think this will take it to new heights beyond that," Hamilton noted.

The production team, including Oscar-winner Javier Bardem and best supporting actress nominee Kerry Condon, will continue filming through the end of the 2023 season, wrapping up at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December. The film's fictional team, APX GP, even had a garage and pit wall setup during races, adding to the film's realism.

Fans can look forward to an immersive experience that captures the essence of Formula 1 racing. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in cinemas and IMAX, promising a spectacular viewing experience. With a budget of around $140 million, the movie aims to deliver high-quality, thrilling entertainment.
