Three children charged with murder of man in Kent

On the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, three children were charged with the murder of a man who was discovered dead. Following an altercation in Leysdown-on-Sea on Sunday night, a 16-year-old girl and two boys, aged 14 and 15, were arrested. Alexander Cashford, 49, of Kent, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police. A 12-year-old girl was also arrested in connection with the incident on Tuesday in Basildon, Essex, and is now in jail.

The three individuals, who are all from London, have been charged with murder by joint venture. They have been arrested in detention and are scheduled to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. They are unable to be identified due to their age.

Mr Cashford was assaulted after a disturbance involving a small group of people in the Warden Bay Road area, near Jetty Road, at 19:00 BST on Sunday, according to police. According to a police spokesperson, he sustained multiple injuries to his body. As part of the probe, officers confiscated a car as part of it. Kevin McKenna, an MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, has previously expressed sadness and shock over the "tragic event. Any witnesses were expected to come forward, according to Kent Police, who said it was still waiting for any witnesses to come out. Anyone with information or who has a CCTV or dashcam video is encouraged to contact the police department.
