UK Election Results LIVE
Today millions of voters have turned out to cast their vote in the UK general election.
Around 46 million people are elligible to vote across the country, and today they vote in 650 Members of Parliament (MPs). The winning party needs at least 326 to hold the majority government.
Polls close shortly at 22:00 BST, and then the ballots will be counted and results will start to come in.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced after the result of the ballot in his constituency of Richmond and Northallerton that Labour has won and will form the next UK government, making Keir Starmer the 7th Labour Prime Minister in history. The polls have closed in the UK, and ballots will now be counted across the country. The BBC has also released their exit poll, which is as follows:

Liberal Democrat - 61 seats (+ 53)
Reform - 13 seats (+ 13)
SNP - 10 seats (- 38)
Plaid Cymru - 4 seats (+ 2)

The poll was overseen by Sir John Curtice and a team of statisticians, and is based on data deom approximately 130 polling stations in England, Scotland and Wales.
The exit polls are known to be relatively accurate, with them being with a range of 1.5 and 7.5 seats in the last general election.
As always, the exit poll is only a predicition of a results, with the first constituency results expected to arrive around 23:00 BST.
