Travis Scott Arrested for Disorderly Intoxication and Trespassing in Miami
Rapper Travis Scott was arrested early Thursday morning at Miami Beach Marina on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing.
The 33-year-old, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was taken into custody at 1:17 a.m. and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 4:35 a.m.
The incident began when Scott was involved in a disturbance on a charter boat. According to police, Scott was drunk and causing a disturbance, prompting the boat's owner to ask him to leave. Despite initially complying, he returned shortly after and continued to cause a commotion.
Officers on the scene noted a strong smell of alcohol on his breath and described his behavior as "erratic" and "disturbing the peace."
Scott was released on a $650 bond, with $500 for the trespassing charge and $150 for disorderly intoxication.
Miami Beach arrest is not the first time Scott has faced legal issues
He has faced previous legal issues related to his performances, including incidents at Lollapalooza in 2015 and a concert in Arkansas in 2017, where he was charged with inciting a riot and disorderly conduct.
Known for his energetic live shows and hits like "Sicko Mode," Scott has been a prominent figure in the hip-hop scene.
His 2021 Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas, ended in tragedy when a crowd surge led to the deaths of 10 fans. Scott did not face criminal charges for the incident but remains involved in civil cases.
Scott's arrest comes just before his European tour, which is set to begin in the Netherlands on June 28. His latest album, "Utopia," has been a major success, reaching number one in the UK and amassing over 50 billion streams globally.
