Kendrick Lamar To Headline Super Bowl Halftime Show In Feb 2025

Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2025, marking his second time performing at the iconic event, but his first as the main act. The Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper from Compton will take the stage at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.

In a video announcing the news, Lamar is seen standing in front of an American flag, saying, "You know it's only one opportunity to win a championship. No round twos. I won't want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans."

This announcement comes on the heels of a busy year for Lamar, including a public feud with fellow rapper Drake. Their rivalry produced hits like Lamar's diss track Not Like Us, which spent two weeks at number one in the U.S., and his feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s Like That, another chart-topping success.

Lamar is no stranger to the Super Bowl stage, having performed alongside legends like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige during the 2022 halftime show, which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).

Now, he’s ready to take centre stage on his own, declaring, "Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I'll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one."

The 37-year-old rapper has been a trailblazer in the hip-hop world. In 2018, he became the first non-classical or jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize for his album DAMN.. He’s also a 17-time Grammy Award winner, with a career that has pushed boundaries and resonated deeply with fans around the globe.

According to Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation works with the NFL to choose performers, Lamar is a "once-in-a-generation artist" whose influence "transcends music" and impacts culture globally.

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, drawing tens of millions of viewers in the U.S. and globally. The halftime show has featured music legends like Beyoncé, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, and The Rolling Stones. Kendrick Lamar's upcoming performance adds to this long list of iconic acts.

Seth Dudowsky, the NFL's Head of Music, praised Lamar's ability to create defining moments, saying, "Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop."

With his first solo Super Bowl performance on the horizon, Lamar’s impact on the event is already anticipated to be monumental, and fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting his performance, with presale tickets expected to fly off the shelves.

The halftime show is sure to be one of the most talked-about moments of the year, and Lamar's promise to deliver a memorable experience is one that his followers won’t want to miss.
