Jaguar Land Rover Say Some Data Was Affected During Cyberattack

Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that a cyberattack which brought its factories to a standstill has also compromised some of its data. While the company hasn't revealed exactly what type of information was accessed, it said it is working with regulators and will contact anyone affected. The hack, now claimed by a group calling itself Scattered Spider, has disrupted global production, with UK plants in Solihull, Halewood, and Wolverhampton unlikely to restart until at least next week.

JLR shut down its IT systems and sent workers home as it scrambled to contain the breach. A spokesperson said the company has been "working around the clock, alongside third-party cybersecurity specialists," and added, "We are very sorry for the continued disruption this incident is causing." The breach has hit not just manufacturing but also supply chains and internal systems, though retail operations like service and sales are still functioning. The UK government is in regular contact with JLR, and MPs from affected areas are set to be briefed on Friday.
