Muhammad Ali to Join WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Legendary Boxer Muhammad Ali to be Honored

In a significant announcement, the WWE has revealed that boxing icon Muhammad Ali will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024. This prestigious ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on March 5, the day preceding the commencement of WrestleMania 40 at the Lincoln Financial Field.

Following in Mike Tyson's Footsteps

Ali's induction marks only the second time a boxer has been honored in the WWE Hall of Fame, following Mike Tyson's induction in 2012 by D-Generation X. However, Ali will receive his rightful place in the Hall of Fame through his widow, Lonnie Ali.

A Special Place in WrestleMania History

Ali holds a unique position in the annals of WrestleMania history, particularly owing to his role in the inaugural WrestleMania event. As one of the first major stars brought in to elevate the spectacle, Ali served as the special guest referee for the main event of WrestleMania I in 1985. The match featured Hulk Hogan and Mr. T taking on the formidable duo of Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff in a tag team showdown.

A Landmark Moment Against Antonio Inoki

Beyond his involvement in WrestleMania, Ali also left an indelible mark on the world of professional wrestling through his historic exhibition match against Antonio Inoki. This bout, still remembered today, stands as a landmark moment in combat sports history.

Legacy and Influence

Muhammad Ali's legacy extends far beyond his achievements in the boxing ring. His impact on social activism and his iconic status as "The Greatest" have reverberated across generations. His induction into the WWE Hall of Fame serves as a fitting tribute to his enduring influence on the world of sports and entertainment.

Joining a Prestigious Class

Ali joins other luminaries in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024, including the U.S. Express, Bull Nakano, and Paul Heyman. Together, they form an illustrious group of individuals recognized for their contributions to the world of professional wrestling.

Live Broadcast on Peacock and WWE Network

Wrestling enthusiasts worldwide can witness this historic induction ceremony live on Peacock or the WWE Network. Don't miss the chance to be part of this unforgettable moment in sports entertainment history.
