Footage appears to show synagogue attacker before killing

On Yom Kippur, a new video appears to show the man responsible for an assault at a Manchester synagogue, minutes before he led his car into worshippers. On Thursday, two people were killed as Jihad Al-Shamie carried out, what Greater Manchester Police (GMP) described as a terror attack in Crumpsall. Footage of a street near 09:22 BST shows a man matching the description by witnesses of the attacker, who was walking back from a recent confrontation at the synagogue, where he was ordered to leave. A black Kia Picanto then appears on the doorbell camera, matching the vehicle driven by Al-Shamie as it returns to the synagogue at 09:26 BST. At 09:31, GMP were called to the scene.
The black Kia Picanto also matches the car that was driven through the gates at Heaton Park's Hebrew Congregation Synagogue and worshippers. In the video, the back right hub cab can be seen missing from the vehicle as a result of the attack. Melvin Cravitz, 53, and Adrian Daulby, 66, were killed in the attack, with the former two men believed to have been struck by police gunshots as firearms officers fired Al-Shamie. Three people are currently in hospital, while police have arrested four others on suspicion of terror charges. Counter terror police were given more time to hold them in detention on Sunday, on Sunday; counter terror police in North West were given additional time to investigate the complete picture
into what happened, according to a Counter Terrorism Policing North West spokesperson. Since being arrested on the day of the shooting, two other people, a man and a woman, were released without charge.
