
Fiverr introduces "The UK Workforce Index"
Fiverr collaborated with the research agency Sapio. They explored the UK workforce and freelancers’ roles in the working industry.
Fiverr, an Israeli online marketplace for freelance services, made an examination of the UK workforce and how the freelancers' importance in the entire scheme. Fiverr is respectable for its well-researched projects, which always tell us something about the current situation related to the entire labour market. This time, their study examines strictly the UK area (as the title suggests).
The results are rather ambivalent for the freelancers, as they show that there is a lack of care for such workers and there are some substantial conclusions that should be implemented to make a crucial change, which will improve the quality of the people's work.

a) "The vast majority of UK businesses (96%) work with freelancers" - it means that, nowadays, UK companies are strongly reliant on the plethora of freelancers
b) "(60%) Of UK businesses say it (...) has been difficult to find full-time hires" - It can be further argued that, presumably, full-time salaries do not satisfy freelancers.
c) "Full-time workers now account for only 58% of the average UK company’s workforce"
d) "Freelancers now make up more than one in five (21%) of the average UK company’s workforce"
Fiverr also focused on the main challenges with which freelancers have to struggle today:
a) "Lack of respect for freelancers' time" - 39%
b) "Unrealistic deadlines and demands" - 36%
c) "Delayed payments" - 36%
d) "Receiving unclear briefs" - 27%
