David Bull Named New Reform UK Chairman
David Bull has been named the new chairman of Reform UK, replacing Zia Yusuf, who resigned abruptly last week after internal disagreements over calls for a burka ban. Bull, a former TV presenter and Brexit Party MEP, was introduced by party leader Nigel Farage at a press conference in Westminster. Farage described Bull's role as one of leadership, not administration, saying his job is to “inspire” the party’s volunteers and bring “verve, energy, enthusiasm” to the position.
Yusuf, who had described working for a Reform UK government as “not a good use of my time” in a now-regretted social media post, has since returned to the party to lead its new "Doge team" — an initiative modeled after Donald Trump’s government efficiency unit. At the press event, Yusuf said he was “hugely excited” about Bull’s appointment, joking that his brief exit had simply been the only way to get a couple of days off. “We need someone who’s an incredible communicator,” he added, calling Bull “a more affable and charming man than I am.”
Bull, who has stepped down from his TalkTV show to take the position, said he was “deeply honoured” and praised Yusuf for having “professionalised the party beyond belief.” He also brought some of his television flair to the moment, promising to use his “skills in the paranormal to dig around and find skeletons in the closet of the Conservative Party and the Labour Party.”
