Meta Boosts Business Verification with New Features

Meta is enabling businesses in other countries to buy a verification badge for their Facebook and Instagram accounts through the expansion of its "Meta Verified for Business" program. With more capabilities and more expensive levels intended to meet a broader variety of company demands, this programme extends beyond merely the blue checkmark.

Expansion of Previously Restricted Availability

Until recently, only Canada, Australia, and New Zealand could use Meta Verified for Business. The additions of Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Peru, France, and Italy indicate a favourable response and room for development. Meta hasn't disclosed precise user counts, but the growth suggests that companies are responding positively.

More Choices at Different Prices

There was only ever one verification choice. Businesses may now choose from four levels, each with a different set of features and becoming more costly. Initially, promotional reduced rates apply; after the first year, the true cost takes effect. The highest level is $499 a month for a single profile, or $699.98 for verification on Facebook and Instagram together.

What does Meta Verified for Business include?

Every tier includes the highly sought-after blue verification badge, improved account support (with additional choices for higher levels), and impersonation monitoring. Higher ranks offer additional benefits, such as:
• Enhanced Profile: This has graphic components for improved presentation, as well as three to eight business link options, depending on tier.
• Search Optimization: Set your profile to appear "at or near the top of search results."
• Featured Account: Increased brand visibility on Facebook and Instagram through specialized "Meta Verified" business display units.
• Links in Reels: To increase your promotional space, get two to six links per reel, depending on your tier.
• Employee Identity Protection: Check your staff members' profiles to stop identity theft efforts.
• Tailored Messaging Chats: Use specific colour schemes for chat conversations to enhance your customer support experience.
• Account evaluation: Meta professionals assess top-tier subscribers' profiles "semi-annually" in order to improve their content strategy.

Worth the money spent?

The premium price tag begs the question of value. Most companies may find the entire feature set at $500 a month to be excessive. However, companies that have already made significant Facebook advertising investments may benefit from more links in Reels and improved profile choices with more call-to-action options.

The exclusive "semi-annual" account review with Meta specialists, which is part of the top tier, has promise but is yet untested. Though it is too early to say for sure, this additional information may be helpful in increasing your brand's visibility.

Changing Verification Value

The fact that the blue checkmark is a purchasable symbol may have lessened its historic significance as a signal of reliability. More obvious advantages, however, could come from these new add-on functions. Testing this program may be worthwhile if you rely heavily on Facebook and Instagram for marketing, especially if you're currently spending a lot of money on advertising.

More Choices, an Uncertain Future

In the end, it is still unknown what value Meta Verified for Business offers. More options could encourage more companies to purchase a blue tick, but the long-term impact on the badge's legitimacy remains uncertain. Before making a decision, it's a good idea to see how large businesses use the program. Businesses now have more freedom thanks to this extension, but time will tell whether the extra benefits outweigh the price.
