“Absolute Power”: ‘The Boys’ Final Season Trailer Teases Homelander’s White House Takeover and a ‘Gen V’ Alliance

CULVER CITY, CA — The end of the "Supe" era has a date. Prime Video officially ignited the countdown to the series finale of The Boys today, 5th March with the release of a blood-soaked, politically charged trailer for its fifth and final season.

The trailer confirms that the war for humanity’s survival will begin on 8th April 2026, with a two-episode premiere. The saga is set to conclude with a "massive series finale" on May 20, bringing to a close seven years of television's most subversive superhero satire.

The White House Under Siege

The new footage reveals a grim "new world order" following the explosive Season 4 cliffhanger. Homelander (Antony Starr) has finally achieved his ultimate ambition, seen chillingly comfortable in the Oval Office.

“My power is absolute,” Homelander declares in the opening moments of the trailer. “At heights no one’s even dreamed of. But I have a bigger destiny.” That destiny appears to be a quest for "V1," an original, high-potency version of Compound V rumored to grant the user total immortality, a development that would make the erratic leader of The Seven truly unkillable.

The Resistance: New Alliances and “Freedom Camps”

While Homelander consolidates power, the titular "Boys" are at their lowest point:

  • The Prisoners: Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), and Frenchie (Tomer Capone) are shown imprisoned in a harrowing “Freedom Camp.”

  • The Virus: Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), still grappling with his terminal illness and newfound tentacles, reappears with a singular goal: deploying the Supe-killing virus that could wipe every powered being off the map—allies included.

  • The Godolkin Connection: Confirming long-standing fan theories, the trailer features the first official look at the Gen V crossover. Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and Jordan Li (London Thor) are seen joining forces with Starlight (Erin Moriarty) to mount a desperate last stand.

A ‘Supernatural’ Reunion

The trailer also offered the most significant look yet at the highly anticipated Supernatural reunion staged by showrunner Eric Kripke. Jensen Ackles returns as a thawed-out Soldier Boy, seemingly forced into an uneasy alliance with his son, Homelander.

However, the real buzz surrounds the glimpses of Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins in mystery roles. One particularly intense shot shows Soldier Boy strangling Collins’ character, suggesting that while the actors may be reunited, their characters are anything but friendly.

“Fatalities From the Get-Go”

Karl Urban has already warned fans to prepare for a "scorched earth" season. Speaking on the trailer’s release, Urban teased that the final run doesn't waste any time thinning the herd. “Nobody is safe,” Urban stated. “There are fatalities right from the get-go. Last season! It’s all on!”

With the "V1" serum as the ultimate MacGuffin and the White House as the final battlefield, The Boys looks poised to exit in the only way it knows how: with absolute carnage and a dark, twisted grin.
