Flights resume at Edinburgh Airport after air traffic control outage
After an air traffic control outage brought the international hub to a halt, flights have returned to Edinburgh Airport. Following an IT glITch at around 08:30, all incoming and outgoing flights were suspended. Several passengers were reported to be stuck in planes on the runway. The airport announced at ten:40 that flights had been restored and thanked passengers for their "patience and knowledge.
Some flights to London Gatwick, Bristol, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt have been delayed, and others have been postponed. An Edinburgh Airport spokeswoman had hoped that 27 departures and 11 arrivals would be affected. The flights had been grounded due to an IT problem wITh the airport's air traffic control firm, according to the airport. Passengers were encouraged to contact their airlines for the most up-to-date information on their flights.
