Three held on suspicion of helping Russian intelligence
According to the Metropolitan Police, three men were arrested in London on suspicion of assisting Russia's foreign intelligence service. The three children, who were 48, 45, and 44, were arrested at various addresses in west and central London. At these and another address in west London, searches are ongoing. They were arrested under suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service, specifically Russia, under section 3 of the National Security Act (NSA) 2023, as part of an ongoing probe into suspected offences under the act enforced by counter-terrorism police.
Cdr Dominic Murphy, the head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, said. "Anyone who may be contacted by and coerced to carry out criminal justice on behalf of a foreign state here in the United Kingdom should reconsider.
