Lola Young Cancels Shows For The Foreseeable Future After Onstage Collapse

Lola Young Cancels Shows For The Foreseeable Future After Onstage Collapse

British singer Lola Young is taking a step back from the spotlight after collapsing on stage during her set at the All Things Go festival in New York last weekend.

The 24-year-old artist posted a message on Instagram Tuesday saying she’s cancelling all upcoming shows “for the foreseeable future.” In the statement, she wrote: “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything… I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know. Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund.” Young added, “I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger. Love you all, Lola x.”

The announcement follows a worrying moment caught on video during her Saturday performance at All Things Go, where she appeared visibly unwell before dropping her mic and collapsing backward on stage. During the set, she acknowledged she’d had “a tricky couple of days” and referred to a “sensitive matter,” but told the crowd: “Today I woke up and I made the decision to come here… Sometimes life can throw you lemons and you just gotta make lemonade.” Just a day earlier, she had canceled a show in New Jersey, with her manager saying, “There are very occasionally days when myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe.”

Young has been open about her mental health struggles, including ADHD, schizoaffective disorder, and past substance use. She previously revealed that she underwent rehab in 2024 to treat cocaine addiction. This pause means the cancellation of her upcoming UK tour and her 17-date North American “Messy” tour, which was set to begin November 1 in Toronto and end December 6 in Los Angeles.

Despite the setback, Young’s career has been on a fast rise. Her 2024 hit Messy topped the charts in the UK and several other countries, and her latest album I’m Only F**king Myself continues to receive praise. She was also just nominated for a UK Music Video Award for her song One Thing.

For now, fans will have to wait — and hope — for her return.
