Women who died in crash named by police

Two people have been named after two women died in a crash that left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries. When the boy was involved in a crash involving a Vauxhall Meriva in Pleasley on the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border at around 06:20 GMT on Thursday, Amie Pearson, 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, were riding in a Suzuki Alto with him. Three men were also injured, with two of them admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by impaired driving at the Common Lane police station. He remains in hospital.

While ambulance services arrived on the scene, the road was blocked between the A617 and Meadow Lanes. Firefighters from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire attended.
