Women who died in crash named by police
Two women have been named following a fatal crash that also left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries.
Amie Pearson, 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, were travelling in a Suzuki Alto with the boy when it was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Meriva. The incident occurred on Common Lane in Pleasley, on the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border, at around 06:20 GMT on Thursday.
Three men were also injured, with two admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in hospital.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the road was closed between the A617 and Meadow Lane while firefighters from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire assisted.
