Welcome to Wonderland: Disney Drops First Teaser for ‘Descendants: Wicked Wonderland’
BURBANK, CA — The magic mirror has spoken, and the next chapter of the Descendants saga is officially coming into focus. During this morning’s Descendants/ZOMBIES Worlds Collide: Concert Special on Disney+, Disney Branded Television surprised fans by unveiling the first teaser trailer for the fifth installment of the global hit franchise, officially titled Descendants: Wicked Wonderland (trailer below).
The high-energy teaser confirms that the film will premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+ in Summer 2026, picking up exactly where the time-bending cliffhanger of 2024’s The Rise of Red left off.
The Price of Time Travel
The 45-second teaser leans heavily into the ominous warning that closed the previous film: “There are consequences when you alter the fabric of time.” The footage shows Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe Charming (Malia Baker) attempting to live out their "happily ever after" in Auradon, only to realize that their meddling with the past has fractured the present. The central conflict appears to revolve around the Royal Vault, where the duo hides their time-traveling pocket watch only for a new, "wicked" threat to emerge from the shadows of Wonderland.
A New Hatter in Town
The biggest revelation in the trailer is the transformation of Maddox Hatter (Leonardo Nam). Previously seen as Red’s eccentric tutor, Maddox appears to have taken a villainous turn in this altered timeline, seeking the pocket watch to reshape Wonderland's fate to his own design.
The cast for the fifth outing is a massive mix of returning royalty and fresh "VKs" (Villain Kids):

Returning Icons: Brandy and Paolo Montalban return as Cinderella and King Charming, while Rita Ora reprises her role as the (formerly?) tyrannical Queen of Hearts. Melanie Paxson also returns as the Fairy Godmother.

New Blood: The teaser offered a first glimpse at Liamani Segura as Pink (Red's younger sister), Kiara Romero as Hazel Hook (daughter of Captain Hook), and Joel Oulette as Robbie Hood.

Familiar Offspring: Fans also caught a blink-and-you'll-miss-it look at Zavien Garrett as Felix Facilier and Alexandro Byrd as Luis Madrigal.
“Wicked” Expectations
Directed by Kimmy Gatewood, Wicked Wonderland marks a significant expansion of the franchise’s lore, moving the primary setting from Auradon Prep to a surreal, present-day Wonderland. With original songs and massive dance numbers promised, Disney is clearly betting big on the chemistry between Cantrall and Baker, whose debut in The Rise of Red broke streaming records for the platform.
“We’re exploring what happens when you try to fix the past and end up breaking the future,” Cantrall teased during a brief appearance following the trailer's debut. “It’s darker, it’s weirder, and the music is on another level.”
As the countdown to Summer 2026 begins, one thing is certain: in Wonderland, nothing is quite as it seems, and the "consequences" are only just beginning.
