Two charged after elderly man killed in hit-and-run
In a hit-and-run accident, two people were charged after a man in his 80s was killed while driving a car and soaring on top of it. According to Kent Police, the man was struck by a grey Mercedes estate on the A289 Gads Hill in Gillingham on Monday. The pedestrian was carried by the car
and was found on the ground at Grange Road, possibly a mile or more from where he was struck, according to the police. Albert Matraxhiu, 28, of Orange Hill Road, Edgware, has been charged with death by reckless driving, and Erald Paci, 29, of Five Way Court, Chatham, has charged with perverting the course of justice.
Both men have been ordered to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court later today.
