Tragedy Strikes on Soleimani Anniversary: Explosions Near Tomb Claim 20 Lives
At least 20 people have been killed and 60 people injured in two explosions near the tomb of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in Kerman on the fourth anniversary of his death.
The blasts occurred during a ceremony at the Saheb al-Zaman mosque, with state media reporting that the explosions were caused by bombs. A video circulating online depicted the aftermath, revealing several bodies on the ground.
State TV has confirmed the incidents, reporting multiple injuries and characterising the explosions as a terrorist attack. The province's deputy governor noted that the blasts occurred within a 15-minute interval outside the graveyard.
Investigations into the attacks are underway.
