Stellantis Report: 5.9% Surge in European Registrations for 2023

Stellantis, the multinational automotive giant, announced on Friday a 5.9% increase in its vehicle registrations across Europe for the year 2023. This achievement solidifies the company's position as the second-largest player in the 29 primary European markets where it operates, with an impressive 18.4% market share, trailing behind the Volkswagen Group.

The group's statement highlighted its market leadership in its home markets, France and Italy, making Stellantis the market leader in both countries for the year 2023. Uwe Hochgeschurtz, Stellantis Chief Operating Officer, Enlarged Europe, expressed confidence in the company's standing, stating, "Our full-year sales performance reaffirms our position as the unrivaled challenger for the #1 spot."

In the fully-electric (BEV) vehicle segment, Stellantis demonstrated notable growth, with a 14% year-on-year increase in registrations for 2023. The group's electric vehicle range includes popular models such as the Fiat 500e, Opel Corsa electric, and Peugeot e-208, contributing to a 14.2% market share in the BEV segment.

Looking ahead, Stellantis has ambitious plans for its electric vehicle lineup. The company announced the expected introduction of "several" new BEV models in the coming year, positioning itself to double its all-electric offerings in Europe by the end of 2024. This strategic move aligns with the broader industry trend toward sustainable mobility and showcases Stellantis' commitment to an electrified future.
