Princess of Wales To Remain In Hospital After Successful Abdominal Surgery
The Princess of Wales is set to remain in hospital for up to two weeks following a successful abdominal surgery. Kensington Palace confirmed the planned procedure occurred on Tuesday at The London Clinic, a private hospital in central London. Although specific details about the surgery were not disclosed, the palace emphasised that the treated condition is non-cancerous.
The statement from Kensington Palace outlined that the Princess, 42, will not resume her royal duties for a few months, and her return to public engagements is not expected to be until after Easter. Once discharged, Princess Catherine is anticipated to recover at her home in Windsor.
The palace spokesperson expressed the princess’ desire for privacy surrounding her medical information. “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible,” the spokesperson stated.
Prince William, the Princess’ husband, is expected to postpone several engagements to support his wife and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The couple also won’t be participating in any international engagements in the foreseeable future.
The palace has confirmed that updates on Princess Catherine’s recovery will only be provided when there is significant new information to share.
