One critical and three injured after early morning shooting at Birmingham nightclub

Four people were wounded in a shooting at a nightclub in Birmingham, and a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Around 03:00 BST, emergency services were dispatched to the Mango nightclub on Bristol Street, where they discovered three men and a woman injured. One of the men is in a critical situation. The perpetrator, 32, was arrested about 09:30 and remains in jail. Three women who were in their 20s and 30s were arrested in a car on the M6 in Warwickshire and arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the shooting.
Police have cordoned off Bristol Street, one of the city center's main routes, and police have cordonned it off. The Pagoda Island to Bromsgrove Street southbound is blocked, and it is likely to remain closed for some time. Ch Insp Michael Clarke, an actor, appealed to West Midlands Police for anyone with details of the shooting.
