34 Postcodes Left With Low Pressure or No Water Following Power Issue At Thames Water Plant

34 postcodes across west and southwest London have been left with low water pressure or completely without water today following a power issue at Ashford and Hampton Water Treatment Works.

 

The postcodes affected include Lambeth, Brixton, and Twickenham. The loss of water has also resulted in school closures, with parents being informed to collect their children shortly after the school day had started and has caused disruption for thousands of homes. Thames Water has said that it is bringing in tankers to support hospitals vital infrastructure, and have issued an apology.

 

Stores have seen people panic-buying bottled water to ensure that they have enough for the day, resulting in a shortage of bottled water in some areas. 

 

According to an announcement from Thames Water at 11:04am the power outage agt the Ashford Plant has been fixed, and that water supplies to the affected postcodes should return throughout the day as the water supply refills. Those who were already registered as having special requirements are in the process of being identified and contacted by Thames Water so they can be given the support that they need. 

 

The affected postcodes are: SW4, SW8, SW9, SW13, SW14, SW15, SW18, SW19, TW1, TW2, TW3, TW4, TW5, TW7, TW8, TW9, TW10, TW11, TW12, TW13, TW14, TW17, W1H, W1M, W1N, W2, W3, W4, W6, W7, W10, W12, W13, W14.
