The Brotherhood Expands: Noomi Rapace and Sean Harris Lead Wave of New Additions to Netflix’s ‘Assassin’s Creed’

LOS ANGELES — The secret war for humanity’s future is gathering its soldiers. Netflix and Ubisoft Film & Television officially announced on Monday 16th March the first four recurring cast members for the highly anticipated live-action Assassin’s Creed series, bringing a heavy-hitting international pedigree to the high-stakes adaptation.

Joining the ensemble in recurring roles are Swedish star Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), British character actor Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible, The Stranger), French comedian and actor Ramzy Bedia (Of Money and Blood), and Italian veteran Corrado Invernizzi (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny).

A Global Ensemble for a Timeless Conflict

While Netflix has yet to disclose the specific identities of these new characters, the casting choices suggest a series that leans into the franchise's gritty, international roots.

The new quartet joins a previously announced main cast that includes:

  • Toby Wallace (The Bikeriders)

  • Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing)

  • Zachary Hart (Slow Horses)

  • Laura Marcus (Death by Lightning)

  • Tanzyn Crawford (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms)

In a joint statement, showrunners Roberto Patino (Westworld) and David Wiener (Halo) expressed their enthusiasm for the project’s philosophical depth.

“Beneath the scope, the spectacle, the parkour, and the thrills is a baseline for the most essential kind of human story—about people searching for purpose, struggling with questions of identity, destiny, and faith,” Wiener and Patino shared. “It is about power and violence and sex and greed and vengeance.”

The "New" Brotherhood: Production Brief

Developed under a landmark 2020 agreement between Netflix and Ubisoft, the series is described as a "high-octane thriller" centering on the centuries-long war between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order.

Notably, the series is expected to introduce characters distinct from those in the video game series, though it will follow the franchise’s hallmark of navigating "pivotal historical events" to shape humanity's destiny.

A Massive Creative Pivot

The addition of Johan Renck as director, the visionary behind HBO’s Chernobyl, marks a clear intent to move away from the "bright and polished" action of previous video game adaptations toward something more visceral and atmospheric.

Industry analysts suggest that the casting of Harris and Rapace, both known for their intense, physically demanding performances indicates a show that will prioritize practical stunt work and complex, morally gray character arcs.

The Road to the Animus

The live-action series is the first of several planned collaborations between Netflix and Ubisoft, which also includes animated projects like the recently confirmed K-Pop: Demon Hunters 2. While no official release date has been set, the rapid expansion of the cast and reports of filming in Italy suggest the Brotherhood could be ready to take flight by early 2027.

As the 230-million-unit-selling franchise makes its jump to the small screen, Netflix is betting big that the combination of historical intrigue and high-stakes espionage will be the "Leap of Faith" that finally cracks the video-game-to-TV code.
