Michael B. Jordan Confirms Production Date for Creed Spin-Off Series

‘Delphi’ Steps into the Ring: Michael B. Jordan Confirms Production Date for Creed Spin-Off Series

NEW YORK — The "Creed-verse" is officially expanding its reach beyond the cinema. During a star-studded appearance at Amazon’s Prime Video upfront presentation on Monday, Michael B. Jordan provided a definitive update on the franchise’s first live-action television spin-off, titled Delphi.

Confirming that the project is no longer just a "sparring session" in development, Jordan announced that principal photography is set to commence in Los Angeles on 18th May 2026. The series, which has been the subject of intense speculation since the box-office success of Creed III, is being positioned as a tentpole original for Prime Video.

The Next Generation of the Delphi Academy

Named after the legendary Los Angeles gym that served as the training ground for both Apollo Creed and Adonis Jordan, Delphi will shift the focus away from the heavyweight title bouts of the films. Instead, the drama will centre on a new crop of hungry, young fighters navigating the "grit and glory" of the amateur boxing circuit.

The series will see the return of the "Little Duke" character (played by Wood Harris in the films), who now oversees the academy his father made famous. Jordan, who is executive producing through his Outlier Society banner alongside long-time collaborator Ryan Coogler, stood alongside showrunner Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) to deliver the news.

“This is about the hunger,” Jordan told the audience at the Beacon Theatre. “We wanted to go back to the roots of the gym, the place where the legends are actually made. Delphi is raw, it’s grounded, and it’s about the next generation finding their own ‘eye of the tiger.’”

A Busy Year for the Jordan-Coogler Duo

The Creed update comes at a whirlwind time for the industry’s most bankable duo. While Jordan confirmed the Delphi production date, the pair are also fresh off the success of their Southern Gothic horror film, Sinners, which earned Jordan an Academy Award for Best Actor earlier this year.

Furthermore, Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly leveraging the Creed brand as part of a wider licensing pact with Netflix, which will see the original Creed trilogy arrive on the rival streamer on 1st June 2026 for a limited three-month window, a move designed to build "maximum hype" before the Delphi premiere.

The Expanding Creed-verse – 2026/27 Roadmap

Project Format Status / Key Date
Delphi TV Series (Prime Video) Filming begins 18th May 2026.
Amara Creed Animated Series In Development (Amazon MGM).
Creed IV Feature Film Scripting Phase; Michael B. Jordan to Direct.
The Greatest TV Series (Prime Video) Muhammad Ali Biopic; Starring Jaalen Best.

Beyond the Ring: ‘Fourth Wing’ and ‘The Greatest’

Jordan’s presentation wasn't limited to the boxing world. The actor-producer also officially confirmed that Prime Video has ordered a series adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’s "romantasy" phenomenon Fourth Wing, which Jordan will executive produce.

Additionally, a first look was provided for The Greatest, an authorised Muhammad Ali biographical series. Jordan introduced the show's lead, Jaalen Best, alongside Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali, who is consulting on the project to ensure historical accuracy.

The Verdict

By locking in an immediate filming date for Delphi, Michael B. Jordan is signalling that the Creed franchise is capable of thriving without a theatrical release every few years. For Prime Video, the series represents a "guaranteed knockout," tapping into a built-in fanbase while allowing the narrative to explore the socio-economic realities of the boxing world in a way a two-hour film cannot.

With cameras set to roll in less than a week, the hunt for the "next Adonis" is officially on.
