‘I Feel Played’: Khloé Kardashian Breaks Silence Following Lamar Odom’s ‘Raw and Regretful’ Netflix Documentary

CALABASAS — A decade after their high-profile divorce, the complex history of Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom has once again been thrust into the spotlight. Following the global release of the Netflix documentary Lamar Odom: The Long Road Back, Khloé Kardashian has admitted she "feels played" by the revelations shared by her former husband.

The documentary, which debuted on the streaming platform on Wednesday, provides an unflinching look at Odom’s battle with addiction, his near-fatal overdose in 2015, and most controversially, a detailed account of the "double life" he allegedly led during his four-year marriage to the reality star.

‘I Didn’t Know Half of It’

Taking to her Instagram Stories late on Thursday, Kardashian, 41, shared a series of cryptic quotes before directly addressing her followers in a candid video. Visibly emotional, the Good American founder expressed a sense of betrayal regarding the timeline of events presented in the film.

"Watching the documentary was... it was a lot," Kardashian told her 310 million followers. "I’ve always been open about my love for Lamar and how much I fought for him, but seeing him talk so casually about things that were happening while I was literally by his side... I feel played. I feel like I was mourning a person who didn’t actually exist at the time."

Kardashian particularly noted her shock at Odom’s admission regarding the extent of his infidelity and substance use during their 2009-2013 marriage, details she claims were kept hidden from her even during their subsequent attempts at reconciliation.

A ‘Raw and Regretful’ Perspective

In the documentary, Odom, 46, does not shy away from his own culpability. The former LA Lakers star describes himself as a "professional at hiding the truth," admitting that his "greatest regret" remains the pain he caused Kardashian.

"Khloé is a good woman. She’s a saint," Odom says in a particularly poignant scene. "She stayed when everyone else ran. I just wish I had been man enough to tell her the truth back then instead of letting her find out through a Netflix special ten years later."

Family Support and Public Reaction

The Kardashian family has reportedly "circled the wagons" around Khloé following the documentary’s release. Sources close to the family suggest that Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner have been "furious" on Khloé’s behalf, viewing the documentary as an attempt by Odom to capitalise on his past association with the family name.

Public reaction has been similarly divided. While some viewers have praised Odom for his "brutal honesty" and his continued sobriety, others have criticised the athlete for "re-traumatising" his ex-wife for the sake of a streaming deal.

Moving Forward

Despite her "played" sentiment, Kardashian insisted she does not regret the care she provided Odom during his recovery. "I did what I did out of love, and I can sleep at night knowing that," she concluded in her video. "But this is the final chapter for me. I’m done being part of this narrative."

Netflix has declined to comment on the specific allegations regarding the documentary's production, though the film remains in the "Top 10" in both the UK and the US.

As for Odom, he is currently preparing for the launch of his new wellness foundation, though it remains to be seen if he will respond to Khloé’s latest comments. For now, the "Long Road Back" seems to have led right back to the front door of Calabasas.
