Face the Past: Keanu Reeves’ Dark Comedy ‘Outcome’ Sets Spring Release on Apple TV+

SANTA MONICA, CA — The "Keanussance" is heading to the streaming world with a dark, satirical twist. During a star-studded 2026 film slate presentation at Barker Hangar yesterday, Apple Original Films officially announced that Outcome, the highly anticipated dark comedy starring Keanu Reeves, will premiere globally on 10th April 2026.

The film marks a major directorial return for Jonah Hill, who also co-wrote the script and stars alongside Reeves in what Apple is calling a "spiritually cleansing" journey through the underbelly of Hollywood fame.

The Price of a Reputation

In a departure from the high-octane action of John Wick, Reeves stars as Reef Hawk, a veteran Hollywood actor whose life has been lived in the spotlight since age six. The plot kicks into gear when Reef is targeted by a mysterious extortionist wielding an incriminating video from his past.

To save his career and his sanity, Reef embarks on a "redemption tour," diving into the depths of his own history to make amends with those he’s wronged. The trailer teases a film that is part introspective drama and part biting Hollywood satire, exploring the toxicity of social media and the "cancel culture" era.

A Powerhouse Ensemble

The release date announcement was accompanied by several first-look images, showcasing a nearly unrecognizable Jonah Hill as Reef’s crisis lawyer, Ira. The film also marks a significant on-screen return for Cameron Diaz, playing Reef’s lifelong best friend, Kyle.

The supporting cast is equally eclectic, featuring:

  • Matt Bomer as Xander, another member of Reef's inner circle.

  • Martin Scorsese in a rare acting appearance.

  • David Spade, Laverne Cox, and Susan Lucci.

The "New" Jonah Hill

Much of the buzz at the Santa Monica event centered on Hill’s physical transformation and his vision for the project. Hill, who has leaned into his role as a prestige director following the success of Mid90s, reportedly used the film as a metaphor for the collective anxiety of the digital age.

“Reef Hawk is a man who has built a house of cards out of his image,” Hill told the audience. “When that video surfaces, it’s not just his career at stake—it’s his soul. We wanted to look at what happens when you’re forced to be honest with yourself in a world that only wants you to be a brand.”

Apple’s Big 2026 Push

Outcome is the lead title in a massive spring and summer rollout for Apple TV+. The tech giant also confirmed release dates for several other major projects, including the Ryan Reynolds action-comedy Mayday (4th September) and the pickleball-centered comedy The Dink (24th July).

By securing a prime April slot, Apple is positioning Outcome as a major player for the 2026 awards circuit, banking on the combined star power of Reeves and Diaz and the critical pedigree of Hill’s direction.
